a trip to Southern Virginia…

Thanks to Groupon the BF and I had a wonderful extended weekend in Southern Virginia.  We spent two nights in Smithfield and two nights in Williamsburg.

A fun filled weekend of historic places and things — the Jamestown Settlement, Smithfield, Colonial Williamsburg, some great driving tours, passed a number of plantations, saw lots of cotton fields (a first), antique shopping, eating (lots and lots of eating), some sleeping in, some outlet shopping, took a ferry to cross the river, Norfolk to see some great friends (and their adorable wee boys), and the start of fall colors.

In my neck of the woods the color changing has started more than in the Williamsburg area, but it was still beautiful none the less.

Tons of knitting to get caught up on, so I’m keeping this short.  Thanks for stopping by, I’m hoping to get some new things into the shop sooner than later!
