my latest obsession…

I fought drinking the Kool-Aid for a long time.

I saw interviews, I heard reviews, I read many different blog posts and status updates but it never seemed to take hold of my interest.  I was bound and determined not to jump on the bandwagon.

I lost the battle — and I’m not ashamed to admit it.  I’m completely 100% engrossed in the 50 Shades of Grey novels.

I devoured the first book in three days…got the book on Thursday by a co-worker (damn her) and by Sunday afternoon book one down, ready for book two. (keep in mind, I spent most of that Saturday in VA for my other obsession…the Dave Matthews Band concert — whole other blog post…so my reading time on Saturday was limited to no more than at least a full hour if that)

Breaking another “I will never” rule…I downloaded the second book on my Kindle Fire.  I couldn’t wait to get the next book after the co-worker (on vacation) got back to the office so I went all-in and bought the second one.

Started that on Monday, and am not more than half done (my reading yesterday was limited to an hour tops as I was trying to get a little caught up on True Blood.  I’m on fire with these “I would never” moments.)

I find myself drawn to the characters much like I was drawn to Discovery of Witches character (shout out — much awaited book two comes out in July and I can barely contain my excitement) and stay up WAY too late reading, grasp any few moments I can to read a paragraph or four, and over all think about what possibly will happen next.

Once I finish the whole series I will give a more proper review — but as a teaser.  It’s not all about the sex.  Yes, there is some sex (okay, a lot) in the books — but it’s not anything that an adult chick can’t handle.  And no, I’m not tearing the BF’s clothing off (more than usual) because of what I’m reading.

Until next time…thanks for stopping by!  I’ve got days and days worth of updates to give — especially updates on The Yarn Cabinet and it’s inventory.
